Goals and Objectives :

• Describe the difference between pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics
• Describe the different routes of administration of sedation agents with the advantages and disadvantages of each route
• Define the different levels of conscious sedation and summarize effective monitoring during sedation
• Describe the pharmacology of the major chemical classes of sedative – hypnotics
• Demonstrate the effective management of expected pediatric emergencies arising during sedation procedures
• Reflect on dental team approach to crisis management in relation to leadership and maximum resource utilization emergency
• Apply the principles of Nitrous Oxide inhalational sedation and equipment safety of KAU dental clinics
