Course Objectives :

1. Overview of general conpcets related to care of the older adult

2. Discuss the pysiological , psychological and cognitive changes pertaining to rehabilitation , associated with normal aging .

3. Attain knowledge in critical care in older adults

4. Understand the use of common medications in care of older adults

5. Analyze and discuss the types of psychiatric problems affecting the aging population and their management

6. Develop a plan of care which addresses the needs of the older adult

7. Apply proper communication skills in handling elderly patients

8. Examine and discuss the nutritional requirements for elderly patients

9. Be aware of elderly abuse and their interventions

10. Understand the ffup care by the home health staffs for continuity of care

11. Apply knowledge and skills to provide safe, therapeutic care to the older adult disability.
