Course Description 

This course will introduce nurses and nursing students to patient safety concept adapted from WHO World Health Organization guidelines which include: 

a. Patient Safety Procedure 

b. Infection control 

c. Effective Communication 

d. Identification, prevention and management of adverse events and near misses 

e. Safe environment 

Learning Objective : 

by the end of the course the participants will be able to 

1. Recognize patient problems in relation to patient safety 

2. Discuss impact on human factors on safety 

3. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with all members pf the multidisciplinary team 

4. Demonstrate basic nursing skills such as IV cannulation , Venipuncture , Blood transfusion , wound dressing and hand hygiene with international patient safety standards.
