Course Objectives: 

• Familiarize with and practice the blood and blood products compatibility 
• Apply new evidence-based practice in preparing and initiating blood transfusion 
• Familiarize with the guidelines on blood transfusion as per KFMC policy and procedure incorporating infection control 
• Discuss therapeutic Aphaeresis procedures  
• Demonstrate advanced practice for a safer blood and blood products transfusion based on new evidence based practice 
• Understand the methods of analyzing medication errors and how to utilize some tools such as the Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
